The Institute of Human Resource M anagement Practitioners (IHRMP), Ghana has hit the newsstands with a new HR Magazine. Launching the magazine at the Institute’s 2019 Annual General Meeting held at the AMA City Hall in Accra on 8th November, 2019, President of the Institute, Dr. Edward Kwapong described the magazine as one of high substance and quality and as such expressed his joy in presenting the magazine to members.

In his welcome message to readers of the new magazine, the Executive Director of the Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioners, Ghana and General Manager of the magazine, Mr. Ebenezer Agbettor expressed his delight in that the magazine serves as an additional quality outlet to the Institute to bring HR to the doorsteps of readers.

Rational for the New Magazine

Providing an insight into the rational for the launch of the magazine, the Executive Director in part revealed that “although the Institute has a long standing monthly e-Newsletter dubbed the HR Practitioner, along the line we have noticed the hunger and appetite for comprehensive and reliable local HR news or information from an authoritative and experts – oriented HR Institution such as ours.”

Pursuant to the above, Mr. Agbettor maintained that The HR News is a flagship magazine of the Institute aimed at publishing authentic, practise-based and high quality articles and updates on human resource management, practice and related issues from the Ghanaian perspective. Thus, the launch of The HR News Magazine comes as a supplement to fill a gap in the HR space in Ghana that has existed for some time.
