admin December 13, 2018After sixteen (16) hectic years of combining studies, work and parenting, the Office Manager of the Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioners, Ghana Mrs Audrey Martekie Sasu Appiah has finally graduated as an Associate Human Resource Management Practitioner (AHRMP).
Mrs. Sasu Appiah was among the 196 HR students who graduated from the Professional Certification Programme of the Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioners (IHRMP), Ghana at the Institute’s 10th graduation ceremony held at the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences, Accra last Thursday on 6th December, 2018.
Recalling how she was able to make it, Mrs. Sasu Appiah revealed that she joined the IHRMP, Ghana as an employee in 1999. Following the commencement of the Professional Certification Programme in 2002, she expressed interest and was part of the first batch of students who embarked on the programme. However, due to the exigencies of work and family, Audrey had to do the programme at convenient times.
Very elated at her latest feat and sharing some experiences with this writer, Mrs. Sasu Appiah revealed that it was not easy combining the three – work, parenting and studies.
In a statement of acknowledgement following Mrs. Audrey Martekie Sasu Appiah’s graduation, her former boss, President and immediate past Executive Director of IHRMP, Ghana, Mr. Kwadwo Asare-Bediako said:
‘’When the history of the growth of the Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioners, (IHRMP) Ghana comes to be written, the name of Mrs Audrey Sasu Appiah will feature prominently. As Office Manager over the last two decades, Audrey has been the administrative pillar of the Institute. Very unassuming, dedicated, and hardworking, Audrey deserves every commendation.’’
On his part, Mrs. Sasu Appiah’s current boss and Executive Director of the IHRMP Ghana, Mr. Ebenezer Agbettor could not hide his joy for Audrey who he refers to as the “Walking Archives” of the Institute. According to Mr. Agbettor, Mrs. Sasu Appiah epitomises sheer commitment, perseverance and professionalism.

Mr. Agbettor concludes that following the unique way of Mrs. Sasu Appiah’s academic achievements, there cannot be any better role model of the Institute to all aspiring students for the Institute’s Professional Certification Programme than her.
The Executive Director revealed his joy with the professional development of staff noting that, Mrs. Sasu-Appiah by her graduation becomes the 3rd IHRMP Ghana secretariat staff to become an Associate member. He thus encouraged the rest of the staff to emulate the three.
