An impressive number of HR practitioners took time from their busy schedules on Friday, August 25, 2017, to participate in a one-day Seminar organized by the Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioners (IHRMP) and Petra Trust dubbed, “Employee’s Retirement: The Role of the Human Resource Practitioner”. Facilitation covered various aspects of the Pensions Law and objectives of the Pensions Act (as amended); the role of HR in assisting staff to effectively plan and prepare for retirement, as well as ensuring that employees are abreast with the new Act, among others.

Helena Poku, Commercial Director and Okyeame Sarfo, Head of Relationship Management of Petra Trust were speakers on the day. The seminar was held at the HR Centre, Nyaniba.

The presentation struck a chord with a number of participants who requested the seminar be held annually, since the last time such an event was orgainsed was 3 years ago.
